Why Choose Our Wonky Kindling?

Great Kindling. Chunkier Pieces. Better Prices.

Meet Wonky Kindling — the slightly oversized, irregular pieces that don't quite meet the size specifications of our regular kindling.

Some pieces are thicker, some are longer and others are simply a little less uniform. Rather than waste perfectly good wood, we've made them available as part of our better-value Wonky Wood collection.

It's the same quality kiln-dried birch and pine kindling, with a moisture content of under 15% — just in chunkier, more varied sizes.

The smaller pieces help get your fire going, while the larger pieces are useful for building up heat before adding your main firewood.

Because the pieces vary, Wonky Kindling may take a little longer to catch than our neatly cut regular kindling. For the easiest start, use a firelighter and a few smaller pieces first

Same Quality. Different Sizes.

Our Wonky Kindling is made from the same FSC-certified birch and pine mix as our standard kindling.

The difference is in the cut, not the quality.

Expect a natural assortment of larger, chunkier and irregular pieces rather than the consistently sized sticks found in our regular kindling boxes.

It's a practical way to make better use of the wood we have, while offering customers excellent value.

Perfect for regular fire users who don't mind a little variation.

Delivered with Care

Each box contains approximately 30kg of kiln-dried Wonky Kindling, packed loose inside one large recyclable cardboard box.

Unlike our regular kindling range, these pieces aren't packed into smaller individual boxes. This keeps packaging simple and helps us offer a better price.

Our kindling is Ready to Burn certified (Defra Woodsure, Cert No: WS7101/00003), subject to this batch being covered by the certification.
