Wood Options Explained
- Oak: Bold and earthy, perfect for brisket, game, and big cuts. Produces strong smoke and deep flavour over long cooks.
- Birch: Light, sweet smoke that pairs beautifully with poultry, fish, and vegetables. Subtle and clean.
- Ash: Neutral and versatile, a balanced choice for almost any food. Great for newcomers to smoking.
Why Use Wood in Smokers?
If you’re cooking low and slow, your choice of wood makes all the difference. From brisket on an offset smoker to cold-smoking fish or vegetables, kiln-dried hardwood adds flavour, aroma, and consistency that gas or charcoal alone can’t match.
All our smoking woods are kiln-dried to under 15% moisture, ensuring clean, steady smoke without resin flare-ups or acrid taste. Just pure FSC-certified hardwood — no additives, no chemicals.
